🏅 AI in Sport, Weight Loss & Wellbeing
About Course
Artificial Intelligence is changing how sporting performance is analysed, fitness is tracked, and digital wellbeing services operate. This course explains how these technologies work, what they can reveal, and how to assess their limitations.
Across seven in-depth lessons, you will explore machine learning, computer vision, wearable sensors, predictive modelling and the analysis of different data sources together. Examples cover professional sport, everyday fitness tracking, weight-management applications and digital wellbeing platforms.
You will learn how AI analyses athletic performance, tracks skill development and supports sports science research. The course also examines food-recognition technology, biomechanical modelling, injury-pattern analysis and systems that predict how people interact with fitness applications.
A central theme is understanding the difference between measurements, estimates and predictions. You will discover why data quality, context, independent testing and human judgement matter—and why identifying a pattern does not establish its cause.
Designed for beginners, with enough depth to build a meaningful understanding, this course requires no coding or specialist sports-science knowledge. It develops practical AI literacy, helping you assess claims about these technologies while recognising the importance of privacy, fairness and responsible use.
This is an educational course about AI technology. It does not provide personalised exercise programmes, dietary advice, medical diagnosis or treatment recommendations.
